Reiki and other Natural Healing can be used with people, animals, plants and any living thing, even to situations such as conflicts or relationships.
Working with animals is not much more different to working with a patient lying on a table. The animal, however rarely understands at first what is going on.
I have personally sent healing to animals both hands on and remotely, In the hands on situations I often notice that after a few moments, the animal suddenly becomes cooperative, and they seem to appreciate that whatever is happening is for their good. We all know that animals appear to have other senses that many humans are not really aware of.
If an animal is in discomfort or pain, then it is possibly better to use distance healing methods, rather than endangering the healer, especially with, for example, a horse. Animals in pain can act just as irrationally as humans do, and accidentally inflict injury on their healer, so best to stay out of the way.
